Make a Quilt Background

Click here to download the quilt patterns that I have.

Open one of the quilt blocks in PSP.
CTRL D to duplicate the original image, close it.

Open the layer palette.
Add a layer, Click on layer2,
hold the mouse button down
and drag it under layer one.

Click on the magic wand.

Click on layer ONE. (Where the image is)
Click INSIDE the area you want to quilt.

Click on layer 2.
Selections/ Modify/ Expand

1 or 2 pixels

Fill with a color.
We click on layer two so the color goes under the quilt lines.

You will be flipping back and forth like this in this tutorial.
At any time you can texture a color if you want.
Get the texturizer plug in here.

The quilting comes in as a bevel
I use eyecandy 4000
You can use what ever bevel plugin you like.

Click on layer one,
Click inside the leaf area,
expand 1 or 2 pixels as above.

Click on layer2,
Fill with a color

Bevel

Here I clicked in the flower tip, expanded,
but I didn't bevel it.
Then click on the remaining areas and fill with a flat (or beveled) color

When done the way you want,
merge visible

If the image is a little large for a background,
resize it at 50 - 60%.

Neat Huh?
